Beat a rival and their costume is yours, perk and all.
Seven neighborhoods, one night. In each of the first six you race a local kid for candy until 9:00. Out-haul them and you move on. Lose and you try that neighborhood again. The seventh is the final neighborhood.
Every neighborhood you win is tallied: candy, full-size bars, your margin of victory and a bonus for never getting knocked down. Your night score keeps climbing until you win the final neighborhood or let the CONTINUE? clock run out. Then it goes on the Best Nights table.
Beat a rival and you can wear their costume, perk and all. Pick one under Costume on the menu.
Every rival you beat is back, each keeping their own count, and zombies are out. Finish with more candy than every one of them to win the night and unlock Freeplay.
Pick any neighborhood and haul as much as you can. Everybody is out, but you're only racing the clock. Beat your own best on each street.
Move with WASD or arrow keys. Use your item with Space. Pause with P. With a mouse, hold the left button and drag the way you want to go, and right-click to use your item. On a phone, drag anywhere to move and tap USE. Controllers work too: stick or D-pad to move, A to use an item (or fire the spread gun), B for the witch's broom dash, Start to pause, and the D-pad and A to get around the menus.
Stand on a lit porch for a second. When a house is out of candy its light goes off, and it restocks 30 seconds later.
Full-size bars, worth 10.
Every neighborhood has one trick house. A huge haul, or a trick that costs you.
Lollipops give a sugar rush. Pillowcases double your haul. Somebody keeps dropping full-size bars.
Every neighborhood has one big stop up a long drive off the first street. Some are places the local kids are too scared to go near, like the haunted house and the vampire's castle. Others are the neighborhood's big Halloween attraction: the graveyard, the old theater, the Scare 'Em Halloween store and the Witch House in Salem. Each gives a big one-time prize, guarded by its own creepy obstacles. You have to stand still at the door for a few seconds to collect.
Run through a spinning ? box to get a random item. You hold one at a time. Your rival gets them too and will use them on you. Whoever is behind gets nastier items.
Cars, chained dogs (sneak past while they nap), older kids in hockey masks who raid your bag, trash cans, puddles and pop-up yard decorations. Fancier neighborhoods have sprinklers, city streets have steaming manholes, and the shopping district has giant inflatable decorations in the way. Get knocked over and your candy spills for anyone to grab.
Your rival is tying a shoe. They'll wait.
